Lauren CheeverCouples, Marriage & Family Counseling InternWelcome — I'm Glad You're Here
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether you're navigating stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, anxiety, self-discovery, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to face it alone. Therapy offers a space to explore your experiences, gain insight, and develop meaningful tools for growth and change. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment built on safety, trust, and genuine connection, where you feel heard, respected, and supported throughout your counseling journey. I believe every person has a unique story worth understanding. Together, we can explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that shape your life while developing practical strategies to help you move toward your goals. |

My Approach to Therapy
My approach integrates cognitive and behavioral therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with psychodynamic and humanistic perspectives such as Person-Centered Therapy.
This allows us to examine both:
This allows us to examine both:
- Present-day challenges
- Long-standing patterns
- Emotional experiences
- Relationship dynamics
- Personal beliefs and values
My Background
I am currently a counseling student at Texas A&M University–San Antonio in the Couples, Marriage, and Family Counseling Program.
While I have specialized training in working with couples and families, I also enjoy working with individual clients across a variety of concerns and life experiences.
I practice under the supervision of Lindsey McGehee, MA, LPC, who works alongside me to help ensure you receive high-quality care and support throughout your counseling experience.

What It's Like to Work With Me
🤝 A Safe Place to Be Heard
I believe therapy works best when people feel genuinely heard and understood. My goal is to create an environment where you can speak openly without fear of judgment.
🧠 Insight Leads to Growth
Understanding ourselves is often the first step toward meaningful change. Together, we'll explore the patterns and experiences that influence your thoughts, emotions, and relationships.
🌱 Growth Happens One Step at a Time
Change doesn't happen overnight. Therapy provides an opportunity to build practical tools, strengthen resilience, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
🧭 Collaborative Counseling
I view therapy as a partnership. We'll work together to identify your goals, build on your strengths, and create a path forward that aligns with your values and needs.
