Psychotherapy Referrals
Welcome your patients to San Antonio Family Therapist

At San Antonio Family Therapist, we specialize in providing compassionate, tailored therapy for children, teens and adults on the autism spectrum and those with ADHD, mood disorders, and other neurodivergence. Whether you're a parent, guardian, or individual seeking support, we are here to help navigate the challenges and celebrate the strengths that come with living with neurodivergence. We believe in a collaborative approach and work closely with families, schools, and healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for each individual.
Common concerns that lead to referrals include:
  • Difficulty with social interactions and relationships
  • Anxiety, stress, or sensory overload
  • Challenges in managing emotions and behaviors
  • Struggles with transition and adapting to life changes
  • Building self-confidence and independence
Our approach is designed to create a safe, supportive environment where patients feel understood and empowered. We use evidence-based techniques in a setting where your patient can feel safe to be themselves and be understood. We provide anger management skills, abuse recovery and prevention, dual diagnosis, depression and anxiety relief, and relationship guidance as well as EMDR, DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Executive Functioning Support, and Social Skills Training.

Why Refer to Us?
Our practice is focused on creating an individualized therapeutic experience for each client. Here’s what makes us stand out:
  • Specialized Expertise: We have extensive experience working with kids, teens and adults on the autism spectrum, adapting our approach to meet each person’s needs.
  • Couples Counseling: For individuals already in therapy who need to begin family or couples sessions where their neurodivergence will be understood and integrated into the family system.
  • Holistic Approach: We treat the whole person, not just the symptoms, integrating strategies to support emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
  • Collaborative Care: We work closely with families, schools, and other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated, seamless care plan.
  • Personalized Sessions: Therapy sessions are designed specifically for each client, using their strengths to overcome challenges and build essential life skills.

Making a Referral
If you are a healthcare professional or educator referring someone for therapy, we welcome your support and trust.

Referral Process: Faxing Made EasyTo make the clinical referral process as simple and efficient as possible, we accept any relevant documents via fax. There’s no need to fill out a separate referral form—just send us the materials that best describe the individual’s needs.
What to Fax:
Please fax the following documents to us:
  1. Medical or Behavioral Assessments (e.g., diagnosis, recent evaluations, IEP reports)
  2. Relevant Medical Records (e.g., medications, treatment history)
  3. Any Educational Records or Reports (if applicable)
  4. Other Relevant Documents (any documents that help us understand the individual’s needs)
Fax Number: 210-255-8371
Once we receive the faxed materials, we’ll reach out to schedule an initial consultation. This is an opportunity for us to get a better understanding of the individual’s specific needs and goals for therapy.

What Happens After the Referral?

After receiving the faxed documents:
  1. Review and Confirmation: We’ll review the materials you’ve sent over and contact you to confirm receipt.
  2. Scheduling: We’ll reach out to schedule an initial consultation, where we can discuss the individual’s goals, challenges, and tailor an approach for therapy.
  3. Therapy Plan: Based on the intake conversation, we’ll create a personalized therapy plan and begin sessions as appropriate.

Contact Us If you have any questions or need assistance with the referral process, feel free to get in touch. We’re happy to assist you.
