Help for Autistic Adults in San Antonio
While neurodivergence is widespread, many people are unaware of their neurodivergence until they reach adulthood. This can be difficult as people adjust to differences in how they think and process information. Learning the truth about yourself can be beneficial. Many adults find that learning they have ADHD, autism, or another form of neurodivergence helps them understand aspects of themselves that they previously did not understand. It can be a huge relief!
You do not need a doctor's diagnosis for us to recognize your autism and help you with improving your life. And if you are looking for help in getting an official diagnosis, working with us can help you to be diagnosed correctly and more quickly. We can help you explore the aspects of yourself that seem different, weird, or strange when compared to the majority of society. If relationships are strained, if life seems overwhelming, jobs are difficult to stay in, or housekeeping, cooking, driving and shopping are hard work, therapy can help.

Counseling for Autistic Families
In our counseling practice, we work to make sure all autistic children, teens, and adults -from all areas of the autism spectrum- are welcomed and understood. We want you to have a therapy team that can help you reach your goals, overcome challenges, and create new goals for the future. We help families with ADHD, ASD, sensory processing disorders, and any type of neurodivergence to have happier home, school, and work life experiences.
We do not provide ABA therapy. Rather, we work through the models of psychotherapy and play therapy that we have found help people achieve personal growth and healthier relationships, academic and career success, and reduce the struggles and strife that frequently plague neurodivergent individuals and their families.

We have therapists who are on the autism spectrum, who have ADHD, and who have family members with these conditions. We are able to collaborate and reach greater levels of understanding for how each person may be experiencing and processing things differently. We understand that each person is an individual and their autism is as unique as they are.

Finding therapy as an autistic adult can help you become a better advocate for yourself and others.
Most people with undiagnosed or late-diagnosed high functioning autism have a keen sense of justice. We desire to make the world a better place, and may feel deeply hurt that it is not as good as it should be. Our sensory processing disorders may often make the world appear to be much worse to us than it is to most other people. As you begin to identify with being Autistic, you may find yourself especially positioned to advocate for a better society, and not just for your own self. Being on the autism spectrum is a challenge, but developing true self-acceptance creates many gifts for yourself, and others, too! Understanding yourself as an autistic adult can be key to doing your part to make the world a more loving and fair place.
